For our first meeting of the year we may have a mystery speaker, or no speaker at all! Unfortunately there was a cancellation. Perhaps everyone will come to the microphone with their New Year's resolutions!!
DECISION TIME:
With the rise in COVID cases many members may decide to partake in Rotary via Zoom for the month of January. The board wants to solve two problems - helping the Hawthorne plan for the number of required meals, as well as giving members who choose not to attend in person some accommodation.
In order to meal plan adequately the Board requests that members decide FOR THE MONTH if they will attend by Zoom. Those attending by Zoom only will not be charged for our January meals. NOTE: You can not decide on a weekly basis. You need to commit now.
Claire noted at our board meeting that by mid-January the Hawthorne Hotel will soon require proof of vaccination. That check will be made and noted only once per member.
YANKEE SWAP:
There were a baker's dozen of members at our final meeting of the year where we celebrated with a Yankee Swap. Marie Cardillo chose the coveted #1 position. For a Yankee Swap there was not much swapping - however Bob Anthony used his chance to choose some Sweet Sloop chocolates, however later on those were swapped from him! (Luckily the it was also candy...).

Gerrit Bradley reminded everyone to sell their calendars and return their raffle-stubs. Because of the late distribution of calendars the January calendar winners will be drawn during the first meeting of February.
