On Tuesday, the Salem Rotary Club gathered in the Ballroom at the Hawthorne Hotel for one of the most inspiring events of the year—our Annual Scholarship Lunch.
During the luncheon, the Club proudly awarded $50,000 in scholarships to a dozen exceptional students from high schools across the Salem area. Each student was recognized for their academic achievements, leadership, and potential to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
This annual tradition is made possible through the dedicated efforts of our members and the ongoing support of the Salem Rotary Club. It was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we invest in the future of our youth.
The Robert P. “Buck” Alexander Merit Scholarship went to Kate Heppner and Thomas Shea,
and the Vance M. “Salty” Smith Scholarship went to Isabelle Duffy. Additional Salem Rotary Club Scholarships were presented to John Cullen, Sophia Fritz, Sammy Garcia, Clara Lopez, Sophia Lugo, Linus Owen, Lucienne Pelletier, Barbara Rowley, and Jack Tsoutsouras.
Congratulations to Rinus Oosthoek for his recent retirement. The Board of Directors voted to name the CTE Scholarships after him, so his name will forever be mispronounced!
Also, a huge congratulations to the Salem Pantry and the Salem Rotary Club for getting the District Grant approved. Finally!
