We are currently meeting via Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to returning to the Hawthorne Hotel soon! In the meantime, please email president@salemrotary.com for our Zoom link.
The club was contacted by the office of State Senator Joan Lovely, our scheduled guest speaker for the planned joint meeting on March 17 between the Chamber and Rotary, to inform the club that she must withdraw. The directive came down from the Governor's office for all elected officials to cancel public appearances due to the Covid 19 virus. The Chamber membership then canceled their Participation in the joint meeting.
I asked the Board of Directors for a vote to determine if we should cancel our next two meetings as we attempt to adjust to the new reality in dealing with this Covid 19 virus. The Board has decided to opt for caution to protect the health and well being of our mature membership, and voted overwhelmingly to cancel the next two Tuesday meetings and then evaluate at that time.
The auction planned for March 27th is postponed. A possible reschedule date of June 5 is possible if circumstances are favorable at that time.
My thoughts and prayers to the club with the hope that we will again meet in the near future.
