SPEAKER OF THE WEEK

This week, Claire Kallelis gave a funny, heartwarming classification speech about growing up in Salem, attending Salem State University and her illustrious career at the Hawthorne Hotel.  We learned about her parents, her husband who was the Mayor of Amesbury, her son, Thatcher, and her huskies.

Claire described her early days at the Hotel and her special connection with many Rotarians whom she served.  She also spoke about her colleagues at the Hotel, particularly head chef Steve Nelson who passed away recently.  Claire also told us about the many celebrities who have stayed at the Hotel and some other memorable events at the Hawthorne.

NEXT WEEK'S SPEAKER

Sen. Joan Lovely will be the speaker on April 30th.  The meeting will be a joint event with the Salem Chamber of Commerce.
