FINES AND RECOGNITIONS
-Tim Clarke thanked all who helped with the backpack program and announced we were delivering 280 bags to Bentley School.
-John Fisher spent several days in Bermuda.
-Jane Stirgwolt announced that her daughter and son-in-law ran the NYC Marathon.
-Patty Pace will be starting a new job at Century Bank.
-Gerritt Bradley shared his daughter’s sports accomplishments.
-Bruce Whear spoke about his improvisation group.
-Jason Consalvo is glad the late-night sporting events are concluded.
-Rich Eisner attended a competition where Salem High ROTC was very successful.
-Chris Casey is glad to be back after a short absence.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CLUB BUSINESS
Rinus announced that Jake Segal is now at home and Betsye Sargent was thankful for our support.
Rinus also updated the Club on some action by the Board, including approval of a leave of absence for Mark Leavitt and some funding approvals.
Rotoract is also helping at the Mayor's "Neighbor Meet and Greet" on November 14th.
The District Unsung Heroes Dinner is November 8th.
The childrens' DCF party will be held on December 1st.

SPEAKER OF THE WEEK
Rinus introduced Judd Berman, the Career and Technical Director at Salem High School.
Judd spoke about the relationship on which he and Rinus had been working to develop between students in the career and technical education programs and the Rotary Club. He described the programs at the High School, including automotive technology, building and property management, culinary arts, electrical, early childhood education and medical assisting.
