SPEAKER OF THE WEEK

The Freshman Rotarians gave a donation to Root.

Faith Emerson from Root was the speaker this week.  Root is a youth workforce training organization for 16-24 year old students working in the culinary industry.  They also help with resume building, hold mock interviews, and conflict training.  Volunteers can help with resume building workshops and mock interviews.  The program is for 12 weeks, and there have been 65 graduates since 2017.

The gift that Rotary gave Root will help fund the "Meet and Eat" dinner in July.

Every month they hold a free dinner at Saltonstall school which is open to every Salem resident.  The meal is prepared in the Root kitchen, and served out of the school kitchen.  They are in need of funding for the summer months.
