VISITING ROTARIANS AND GUESTS

Leslie Levesque had students from The Phoenix School, Lucas and James, as her guests.

FINES AND RECOGNITIONS

Viktoria Talebian mentioned she donates to the birthday fund her age and the age of her kids. When she began at Rotary she donated $32 (her age and one newborn) and now she just donated $95. It adds up fast!

Bruce Whear spoke of another side gig he runs – “patient specialist” – where he pretends to be an injured patient. In this episode he had suffered from a fall.

Gerrit Bradley mentioned that going out on Friday night made him feel he experienced a three-day weekend.

Jason Consalvo seconded the effect of partying on a Friday night tending to extend the feel of the weekend. He also mentioned his difficulty in tying Rinus’ bow tie at the auction.

Liz Bradt requested a leave of absence from the club for her upcoming three-month road trip and retreat to the Southwest where she will become a certified yoga instructor.

One of the students from The Phoenix School spoke excitedly about his upcoming trip to Mt. Rushmore.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CLUB BUSINESS

The Phoenix School students were at the meeting shaking out piggy banks, or shaking down Rotarians without piggy banks, for donations going to their chosen cause, the North Shore Moving Market.

Rinus mentioned how the board voted on donating money to Salem Community Childcare. In addition, the board voted to provide funds to Malawi for post disaster support. The money will be directed to the appropriate charities by Francesco Sabelli.

Friends Forever holds their 10th Annual Golf for Peace Tournament fundraiser at the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club on June 24th.

Mark your calendars on June 21st for Mike McLaughlin’s installation dinner at Kernwood Country Club for now.

The auction was a smashing success. Everyone had fun and we raised more money than expected! Although the numbers are not final, the back of the envelope summary is that we raised above our planned number! Congrats to all who helped, donated, danced, and dined.
