This week at Rotary, time was set aside to socialize and enjoy the great company. There was a Board of Directors meeting prior to our regular Rotary meeting. The highlights included a Funds Allocation recommendation of a $500 donation to the North Shore Concert Band. There was a long discussion about $20,000 of additional funding, including $10,000 going into the Scholarship Fund and $10,000 to be donated to other local causes.
Rotarians have been busy this week working on the Salem Traffic Island Beautification sites, including removing bushes by our Community Board. Special thanks to Bill Henning for once again being the brains behind the operation and coordinating the efforts. The brawn was provided by Jim Rose, Atila Macun, and FJ Murphy.
Every Rotarian Every Year donations to the Rotary Foundation were made recently, making us once again a 100% club. Thank you all for your contributions. CTE Awards were handed out last week at a lovely event. Carolyn Shapiro represented the Salem Rotary Club at the event.
