Information about the Mayor's Office Children's Alliance

Sarah Roy is the inaugural director of the Salem Children’s Alliance for the City of Salem. Prior to assuming this role in February 2024, Sarah was the Director of Adjustment Counseling for 6th-12th grade students at Salem Academy, where she worked directly with students and families since 2010. Sarah’s devotion to Salem is evident in her steadfast advocacy for meaningful changes that allow for equitable access for all Salem children and teens. She partners with school, community partners, and families to amplify efforts to improve the ways that we are supporting those who often do not have a seat at the table. Sarah values collaborative problem solving and believes that this community is uniquely situated to build and sustain innovative solutions because of the commitment from people like you. As a social worker, understanding the impact of oppressive systems on vulnerable communities has been essential as she builds strategic plans with her partners.  Additionally, Sarah has previously served on the Board of Directors for The Boys & Girls Club or Greater Salem and SPUR. She was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of The Women’s Fund of Essex County and has joined the Development Committee for HAWC.
