Adventures Racing in a Regatta in beautiful Sint Maarten

Please join us for a first-hand report of the most recent Heineken Regatta in beautiful Sint Maarten. Over 100 teams gathered from over 20 countries for four days of racing, in an event that’s now in its 43 rd running. Our speaker will be Fred deNapoli who was helmsman on a chartered Solana 44 at the “Heineken”. He’ll walk us through the process they went through from sourcing the boat from a company in Canada, to assembling a team, to financing the effort, to managing the logistics. And how they prevailed with a group of sailors mostly from Massachusetts, many of whom have never sailed together, to win their Class and come 6 th over all in Fleet. Fred’s background includes roughly 60 years on the water growing up in Marblehead, MA. He spent roughly 12 years in the industry, has won 11 New England Championships and five National, North American or World Championship podiums.
