Salem Rotarians Say…

Tim Clarke had a big birthday on Friday. They used to indulge in special ribs from tulip-fed hogs to celebrate, but they weren’t available. The family went local this year with ribs from the Rusty Can. Although they ordered too much, they were a big hit! He and Alice also celebrated up in Maine for the weekend. Don’t worry Tim, 65 is the new 35! Happy Birthday!

Dan Sullivan regaled the crowd with a home repair saga that rivaled Joe Amico’s kitchen debacle. Due to a leak in a closet, the floors of his first floor had to be replaced. So while in Rome, or Salem as the case may be, he replaced his whole kitchen. The floors are finally going in, but the Sullivan family had to take up residence in Peabody at the Marriott, where they have lived for a few weeks.

Matt Callcut went to his first Patriot’s/NFL game last Sunday. He noted that here, football turns out to be an intense game of catch because there are no feet involved. His flip comment may have earned this self-proclaimed “pasty Brit” a sunburn that day.

Coach Gerrit Bradley spoke of his role as “worst coach ever” for the Tower School middle school team. Don’t get on Coach Bradley’s bus unless you’re a real team player or you will lose phone and snack privileges! Gerrit also shared how his family celebrated his uncle’s 70th birthday with a recreation of his childhood tugboat cake.

Jason and Heather Lang are getting out of dodge this weekend to enjoy some deck, fire and creek time in the Berkshires….take us with you!!!
